The Canon FS11 features a 1.07 Megapixel CCD image sensor camcorder with 48x Advanced Zoom lens which offers wide angle and telephoto positions for quality image captures. It offers DIGIC DV II Image Processor which uses a hybrid noise reduction system to provide optimal image quality for still images and videos. In addition to this, continuous shooting of digital photographs such as five 1152 x 648 still images per second can be shot. This camcorder has Dual Memory function which captures video onto both internal 16 GB Flash memory as well as onto an SDHC Memory Card. The Canon FS 11 offers Widescreen HR Mode which uses the entire width of the image sensor to produce 16:9 resolutions of widescreen image. The 2.7 inches Widescreen LCD on the camcorder shows still images and video recordings. This camcorder features Auto Intelligent Auto Focus (AiAF) which selects from 9 metering frames on the screen to bring images into sharp focus. The Auto Exposure Modes where the auto mode allows auto selection of exposure which provide concentration on the subject. In addition to this, the program AE mode selects the exposure settings according to different conditions and subjects. The Level Marker feature offers camera level photograph shooting while the Grid Marker allows shots to be compose according to the grid in the viewfinder. This camcorder offers Pixela ImageMixer software which organizes, enhances and shares videos. This application features packed video editing software which allows actions like trim, reorder or combine scenes.

The Canon FS11 features Built-in Electronic Lens which covers the lens as the camcorder is turned on off or opens when it is turned on. In addition to this, there is a wireless remote control which allows operation of camcorder from a distance. The Canon FS10 offers SD/SDHC Memory Cards as its external recording devices.
