Features

The Pentax K20D has a 23.4 x 15.6 mm CMOS image sensor. The sensor is developed to optimize the performance of Pentax interchangeable lenses. The K20D is incorporated with Pentax original image processing technologies to yield natural, true-to-life descriptions. Hence, the fine-detailed, rich-graduation images are assured. In terms of shake reduction mechanism, Pentax-developed SR (Shake Reduction) mechanism is employed in this camera. This mechanism is designed to reduce camera shake and produce blur-free images even under demanding shooting conditions. Furthermore, the latest noise-reduction technology is utilized to improve the image quality. The K20D offers a choice between 3 fps at full resolution and 21 fps at 1.6-megapixel resolution. It features a new dust alert system which scans the sensor for dust particles and highlights their location for ease of removal. It offers sensitivity range of ISO 100 to ISO 3200. In addition, the Pentax Dynamic Range Enlargement (DRE) provides an expanded contrast range of the photos. It uses recharge battery in which each battery charge can allow for shooting up to 740 images. The K20D body dimension is 141.5 x 101 x 70 mm (5.6 x 4.0 x 2.76 in). Its weight is 715 g (without battery) and 800 g (with battery).
