Sony DSC-W170 is a digital camera with 10.1 Mega Pixels with Super HAD CCD, Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens with 5x Optical Zoom and 2.7" LCD Screen. Its features are Sony Bionz™ Image Processor, Super SteadyShot and ISO 3200 High Sensitivity, ‘Smile shutter’ and face detection. It comes in four colors, red, black, gold and silver.

Features

The DSC-W170 has a 5x Optical Zoom with Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization to minimize blur due to camera shake. It is also equipped with an optical viewfinder. The BIONZ™ Image Processing Engine reduces image noises without degrading resolution or color integrity. It can control color saturation, white balance and exposure. The smile shutter detects smiling faces and releases shutter automatically. The face detection technology is equipped with "Child priority" or "Adult priority" modes which able to determine the focus, exposure, flash and white balance on multiple faces automatically. With the intelligent scene recognition technology, the camera analyzes the shooting conditions and automatically selects the optimal setting. It takes approximately 1.9 seconds to start up. The camera has approximately 15MB internal memory and it supported memory sticks are Memory Stick Duom Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo (High Speed) and Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo. The Sony W170 supports high definition component video output via an optional proprietary cable. It measures approximately 93.7 x 58.0 x 24.0mm in dimension and weighs approximately 175g with accessories.
