Panasonic VIERA TH-42PX80 is a 42’’ high definition plasma television in the VIERA series by Panasonic. Besides its wide screen and high definition image production features, it also provides 480Hz sub-field drive, c3 image enhanced, VIERA Link™, 3 HDMI (ver. 1.3), photo viewer (SDHC), game mode, anti-reflective screen shield, simulated surround sound and Energy star® qualified.

This VIERA model offers its customer high quality of image as it displays images from high definition resource at its best possible images. Besides that, the colour temperature control feature allows user to quickly adjust the white balance toward either blue (cool) or red (warm). On HDTV monitors, component video inputs provide outstanding resolution and colour accuracy and can accept either progressive or interlaced signals from a variety of sources including DVD players and DTV set-top receivers/decoders. In order to achieve high quality of sound re-production, the Viera TH-42PX80 features Artificial Intelligence Sound Control, BBE® High-Definition Sound, BBE® ViVA HD3D Sound, optical Output for dts® and Dolby Digital® 5.1-ch Decoders, simulated Surround Sound and Stereo/SAP Reception with dbx® Noise Reduction. Even more, its comb filter is used for RF and composite video signals only (standard 480i signals from a VCR or analogue cable TV). The comb filter provides an accurate means of separating colour and luminance information from a television signal. As a result, it improves overall colour sensitivity and image clarity. . Moreover, the TH-42PX80 has the ability to resize the image on screen to further enhance viewing enjoyment. Simply press the button marked FORMAT on the remote control to choose from Full, Zoom, Just, 4:3 or 16:9 that helps to reduce or eliminate the presence of black bars when watching wide screen or standard (4:3) video material. It also features HDMI which is an uncompressed digital video and audio interface that is the new standard digital connection between home theatre devices.
